Verifying fit of washer hose and clamp recommendations..86' Coupe.

Ordering new lines/hoses and nozzles. Previous owner deleted all lines...

Want to make sure the 4x6mm are correct from users.

I will be ordering the above but wondering what everyone is using for clamps or would a snug clean zip tie work? Trying to avoid leaking especially after I put all this back together.

Everything is in great working order (including the "intensive washer") - pulled all
reservoirs and cleaned, all pumps checked out so good to go.

Thanks!
Erik

Hi Erik- I used #99951252700 clamps when I replaced all the check valves in Petra's system. They are described as "Clamp - Hose Spring - 8.5-10.5mm". I'm not sure if a zip tie would offer good clamping pressure. I used Oetiker Clamp Pliers to tighten the clamps.

As an aside, here's my story on the mold in the tank, which got me started down the road to replace the check valves...

Fantastic.

...and what a great write up. I searched and searched and how I missed your thread is beyond me.

Really appreciate it and will add to my cart here on Pelican.

Again, thanks!
Erik

Of course since I am impatient these might work?

Hi Erik- the 8.8-10.5mm pieces in that pack certainly look like they would fit.

The lines to the check valves are friction fit, as I recall when I pulled mine (1977) to replace the gunked up ones and the flexible hoses, there was a small rubber sleeve covering all the connection points including on the washer pump itself, helped maintain tension instead of a tiny metal clamp.
Product called Gates (heat) Shrink Clamp is a sufficient replacement for the oem.

EC900 is correct for a non-intensive washer system. I'm assuming the higher pressures dictated the use of clamps for 1986. The clamps are noted as Part #6. Mine were a bit torn up after removal, so replaced with new ones. Here's the 1986 schematic...

Thank you both for the input. The schematic was a bonus and really appreciate.

Yes, having the "intensive" system has been quite eye opening! Thought I could clean and be back to business.......not so much. Again, thank you both!
