How to question

I own a 72T and its a royal pain to start. I have to prime the stacks in order to start her. Me and my windex bottle filled w/fuel aint cuttin it. So i need to know how to wire a priming button on the dash and what wire to hook it too . I know the thing on top of the fuel filter/has to be wired. If any one can help man id be grateful.

is your fuel pump coming on during cranking?
you shouldn't have to do that.......and fuel will eventually eat through the windex bottle and make a mess :)

Yes it is coming on once the car starts she starts and runs ok its not a windex plastic bottle its an old glass bottle.

i'm not real familiar with early carbed cars but if the pump isn't coming on while cranking and only only comes on after the engine starts then it sounds like possibly a power supply problem.....maybe ignition switch, someone else will chime in i'm sure.

p.s......i re-read your post.....needed a comma i think :D
does it only happen when the engine is cold? or sits for long periods of time?

From your description of the fuel filter, it sounds like your car still has the original MFI. This system has a fuel enrichment circuit built in; note the little "T" fittings on the side of the stacks. Have you checked to see if it is working properly?

If you don't already have a copy of "Check, Measure, Adjust," I'd suggest downloading a copy. I believe it can be found somewhere on this site; do a search. The MFI system seems a little daunting at first, but once you get to know it a little, is straightforward to troubleshoot.

Good Luck,
Jim
