EGR with SSI's

I recently installed SSI's on my 78 SC. The SSI's did not have a port for connecting the EGR plumbing...what should I do with the EGR valve? Will this affect engine performance?

mine was disconnected when I got the car.. I think there is a block-off plate available for the engine............Ron
