1986 911 return fuel line clogged? Need some help!

I have a 1986 911 that I am working on to rebuild. Motor is out, tank is out. I was trying to blow out the fuel lines. Supply line was fine. Return line seems to be clogged. There is not a check valve in the line right? If not is there any way to clean the lines? Is the line in the tunnel plastic? If it is clogged do I replace both front and rear rubber lines?

I know in my 72 the return line has a designed in restriction in the line . . even though the exterior line diameter is standard there is a molded in restriction down to 1/8" or so, not sure on a 86. This restriction is between the rear mounted pump and engine.

When you say it seems clogged, do you mean partially clogged, or totally plugged?

They’re plastic or polymide, as long as engine is out might wanna replace them anyway. They run in the left side of tunnel.

they seem pretty clogged. I can get a little air to move thru them but not much. Definitely some crud inside them for sure

Since you have the drivetrain out, now is the time to replace the lines. It would suck to put the motor back in, then find out you have to replace hem.

yup it seems like that is my only option. Is it possible to attach the new one to the old one and pull it through together without having to open up the tunnel etc? Any tips would be great

Yes. Contact Len for new lines and the coupling that allows you to pull the new one through with the old one. He is "BoxsterGT" on the Forum.
