Frickin' Laser Beams

Got a buddy here in the Carolinas that has been running a drying ice cleaning business (Merritt in Kannapolis) for a few years. He does big commercial equipment cleaning, fire remediation and of course autos. His reputation in the car community has gotten to the point where he is now doing some pretty high profile projects. Contributed to a few "winners" recently at the Porsche parade.

He's now added some other technology; laser cleaning/rust removal. I've been seeing short videos pop up about this type of technology for awhile now. Like anything, marketing pieces are misleading and the "good" equipment isn't available via **** or Amazon. He did his homework, talked to a lot of equipment vendors and took the plunge on a 6 figure machine and multi-day training course in his own shop. Yesterday he asked if I had any old parts, specifically exhaust he could treat with his new equipment. So I handed him a few parts over lunch yesterday. Later yesterday evening he sent me these pictures back. It is pretty amazing the transformation. Kind of incredible actually. Really anxious to see how my factory heat exchangers turn out.
