993 hydraulic lifter issue

How do you remove the hydraulic lifter on a 993 rocker? Just pull it out? Also, are the rockers supposed to look different, flat on one and a raised portion on the one in the foreground?

One is intake, one is exhaust. Best not to mix up rockers. If the lifters don’t fall out they can be pulled out.

thanks. I bought the rockers already removed from the engine, so I dont know that the lifters are bad, but easier to replace now than later.
