Engine Console Bolts - M10 x 1.5 Class? Depth? Nut?

I'm not sure my engine has the right bolts in the console. Can someone help me verify?

I've confirmed they are M10x1.5, what Class do I need? 8.8? 10.9? Given that the book specs 40nm for these bolts, I suspect Class 8.8.

What depth for the bolts? I think the lower two bolts also hold the exhaust manifold bracket (right?), do those two bolts need to be a little longer?

Do I need a standard nut of the same class for the upper right side stud that the console fits over? Or is it supposed to be some kind of nylock nut?

Flat washers of the same class for all positions?

Picture below for clarification.

What are the exact bolts that go in the positions with the red circles?

What is the exact nut that goes over the stud that goes through the back of the console under the green circle?

Do the lower set of bolts also hold the muffler bracket?

Why not order the bolts from Porsche, then you will know they are correct for the job? I imagine they will be 8.8

Does this help

I need the same bolt in the upper red circle. Assuming non turbo, and that the lower red circles are the same bolt length M10X50, that would mean the upper red circle bolt #4 is the M10X22 as there are 3 total of part #4 per car right? That seems too short to me.

Are the two bolt holes on the right AC bracket holes?

Hi Ian, I’d like to order the Porsche parts, but as you can see from the image you posted, it is not really clear which parts go where.

Does anyone know?

Also, I don’t think the nut that I need is shown at all.

Here is another one that is bigger and may be more readable. What is your car?
I know it is a Carrera 3.2 but can't remember what version and what year.
Engine type can be 930.20 (RoW), 930.21 or 930.26. I think 930.21 is the engine type for US. Choose your bolts according to this, in particular item 4.
I selected 1986 US Carrera 3.2.

Position 3 is just a short 10mm, 2 washer. I like to replace them with fine thread and lock washer.

I used 45mm studs on the upper 2 and 55mm studs on the lower 2

Correct, the US spec 1984 911 Carrera 3.2 is the 930.21.

Update: I measured incorrectly on this post, see this post for the correct details.

Referring to the 4 bolts that hold the console to engine mount cross bar?

Do these bolts come loose?

You replace them with an M10-1.0 or 1.25? What sort of lock washer?

I measured the depth of all three console to block bolt holes, and they are all just over 32mm. I measured an m10 washer at 2mm, the muffler bracket (for the lower two bolt holes) at 2.7mm, and assuming the console is about 3mm (I don't have it handy for measurement), we have a total max depth of maybe 39mm or 37 w/o the muffler bracket.

The bolts included in item 4 in your table that could apply for my 84 include:

M10x22
M10x50
M10x60

Given that the absolute max depth is 37-39mm, the M10x22 is the only potential option.

Does anyone have a different view or an authoritative answer?

The way I see the table, for item 4, you need two M10x50, one M10x22 and one M10x60.
Some of the refs for item 4 are discontinued and replaced by others. I checked with the tool I have (even got the price). When clicking on some of them, the alternate ref below is suggested as a replacement.
That explains why there are so many refs for item 4 in this table. Also because of the refs for turbo engines.

I went out and got all the parts back from vapor blasting and powder coating so I could do a quick mockup for measurement, see picture below.

With everything in place, including washers, the depth on all three holes is about 61mm on the upper left hole and about 63 on the lower two holes which also carry the muffler bracket.

Given those measurements I'm thinking Class 8.8, M10-1.5x50mm makes the most sense for all three bolt positions and a Class 8.8, M10-1.5 regular nut for the upper right nut. Class 8.8 M10 washers for all positions.

Does anyone have any alternate suggestions?
