fresh air intake trim/ grille gasket

i think the factory used rubberized cloth tape because i saw the same thng come off another car, so i realized thats why i couldnt find a replacement. just searching for comments of what others are doing ,or not and heres a pic of what i did to replace it.


i found some light canvas and squigied high temp silicone permatex on both sides, and then cut it out w scissors for perimeter, and razor knife for vent slots, to make a 1 piece gasket install went really easy.adv thnx for any response
