Safe storage of Carrera 3.2 fuel injectors?

My intake manifold will likely be apart for at least another few months.

Should I get some protective caps to cover the top and bottom of the fuel injectors?

Nah, just be careful with them.

Since they are going to be ot of service for a while, why not have them cleaned and flow tested to be sure they are in great shape when they go back in? I am lucky to have a boat place local that has an injector cleaner. He has saved me a couple of times.

That's a good suggestion.

That was my plan, until I watched the video from Franny below where the injectors came back with a recommendation to install immediately. Now I'm thinking I'll wait to send them in for rebuild until shortly before I'm ready to reinstall the engine.

I have heard that fuel pumps should be plugged when stored so seals don't dry out. Is this something to consider for injectors? Saran wrap them?

They don't have rubber seals, but it's a good idea to plug or bag them to keep dirt out.

I agree with Fanny; I had the injectors serviced on my 3.2 while we were building the engine. 8 months later we installed them and...no good due to sitting- despite being wrapped in the bags in which they were returned. Ended up replacing them with new injectors.

I assume you returned it the shop for warranty service.

Which rebuilder was this ? If all 6 went bad after only 8 months, not sure you should use their service again.
