Rear Toe Eccentric Turn Direction

Doing an alignment on my car, and the rears have a slight toe out. I’ve read through the service manual and searched the forum, and I don’t see anywhere that says which direction to turn the eccentric to bring the toe in slightly.

As I’m sure you all know, doing the rear is extremely fiddly and since I’m within 2-3mm of where I need to be, I don’t want to turn it the wrong way and have to work everything back.

Sorry if the question is redundant, but I read every thread I could find and looked at my service manual - so I did my due diligence

Just remove the eccentric and you can see which way it will move the parts when you turn it?

toe out is very hard to achieve , I normally set mine to max toe , 0 toe ,all toe out .
This is 0 toe in most cases , it is what I think is best . I also run toe 0 in the front .
please not a time for a bashing or rant , I just know enough about the cars I'm setting, to
desire these settings

For the OP just turn the adjuster 360 degrees, back to the original mark you made .
Set the toe from there , toe can only be measured at ride height, rolled and bounced lots

+1. And put additional marking where the lobe max out. Once it is installed, you have no way to know the location of the highest peak of the lobe for your adjustment. That’s the reason I marked the adjuster bolts.

Ditto. Once I got my toe and camber set, I used a Dremel tool to cut a notch on the adjuster at the top of the lobe. Now I have a point of reference for future adjustments.

As for which way is toe in, it will be opposite on the left and right. The adjuster movement that pulls the hub forward increases toe in, and vice versa for toe out.

Don't forget to loosen the small bolts that clamp the hub to the back of the spring plate.

The answer to this is - there is no clear answer like 'turn clockwise' or 'turn counter clockwise'.
This is because the excenters can be put in two ways and sometimes toe and camber collide.
I always first take the toe-excenter out completely and start with setting camber first. After that, you may find that the toe-excenter ends up in the elongated hole the other way around so it doesn't collide with the camber-excenter. Depending on that, you'll need to turn left or right to achieve the desired toe change. As others noted above, watch what the lobe does and put a mark on the outside, then it becomes clear which way to turn ;-)

Edit: As toe and camber go together, it might take 2-3 iterations to get the desired results.

This is from an older publication I found on another thread. A little crude but a good reference, using to set my rear suspension currently. Don’t focus on which way to turn the bolt, use the resulting direction change of the trailing arm when adjusting the bolt to increase/decrease

**cant upload photo, but search for “Raystrack” or “Home alignment of Porsche 911”

I figured it out. I knew for the camber it would turn then reset. But I couldn’t remember if the same happened with the toe. I guess it makes sense that it does because it’s an eccentric bolt.
