1980sc heater blower aftermarket???
Hello,
I have a 1980 911sc...…….It has a monster 3.4 turbo charged motor with intercooler....Hence no heater blower back there..... guess I should just drive it in the warm weather... wondering if I can put an inline heater blower in there somewhere ?????? Any pictures with ideas of your projects would be appreciated.... Thanks |

Folks have bypassed the engine mounted fan and run directly from the shrouding to the heat exchangers. Probably not best, but you’d still have heat/defrost. All the early 911s did without this fan and did fine.

While the factory heat exchangers will boil moisture off the windshield about 2-3 minutes after starting, the ones on performance 930 headers are kind of a joke are barely adequate to prevent fogging of the windshield when you're driving.
But yeh, just do the heat backdate and use the big fan in the back - and avoid mountain passes @ 16F ambients or you'll be stopping at every rest stop and stomping around to get feeling back in your toes. BTDT. Eventually, Classic Retrofit will finish developing their electric heat system for 911s...

I have the same setup as the OP. Auxiliary blowers by front wheel wells work really well. No need for anything else in the engine compartment.
Radial blowers 911-624-043-02 and .....044-02 See 1986 PET illustration 813-02 and 908-05 Cheers, Johan

The reason i am asking is i ordered coupe window rail.It came in 2 pieces. So i got in mail replacement and guess what,i tried to push it by hand on the glass and again i broke in 2 pieces. After inspection i see the the weld were rusty...it was held together only by one spot on each end..had to order it at the dealer and it was actually 50 euro cheaper;-) Never mind the air fresh unit i got ,it was totally out of balance i had to remove it send back.... Do you have a quality control at the place? thanx Ivan ![]()

For URO Blower Motor 911 571 320 32, we received reports that some units had cage wobble about two years ago, which was corrected shortly thereafter. Our QC team has been keeping an eye on it, and there haven't been any complaints about recent production runs. Thanks for checking!
