Question is there a battery that has poles on the other side?

is there a battery for 911SC that has poles on the other side?
my poles are close to the body, with the positive pole very close, also they both hard to access because of the lack of clearance around them.

i wonder if there a brand that has them on the other side, much easier to disconnect in case of maintenance work

Optima offers a battery with the poles reversed.

Depends on the manufacturer but some have an R which reversers the poles. I bought an odyssey PC925L which have the poles reversed so they sit inward toward the tank.

They come in all variations - depending on manufacturer and the range they offer. Not all vehicles are the same. + on one side, - other , +/- same side, +/- opp side, + one side, - other and vice versa.

francesconyc -- suspect your car has a "boat anchor"-sized group 49 battery. Recommend you get a slightly shorter group 48 battery, which will power your car's electricals just fine and be a lot easier to maneuver in (and will lock in place using existing fasteners). Also, get one that uses AGM technology, which are MUCH less prone to leaking/boiling over when your voltage regulator fails. As for terminal orientation, if you remove the connection from the negative terminal first, you don't need to worry about the positive terminal's proximity to the body, as disconnecting the battery's negative terminal causes the positive terminal to no longer be "hot"

the PC925L is a much smaller battery than the stock group 48 or 49 and has less than 1/2 the CCA of a group 48. While it will start a 911 just fine (and be easier to work with), the lower capacity of a PC925L provides less reserve power for unforeseen situations (i.e. while a normal battery can power an accidentally-left-on dome light overnight w/o issue, the same load could completely discharge a PC925L in the same timeframe, ditto parasitic drains, etc.). Also, securing the PC925L requires the purchase/fabrication of an adaptor, as it's too smalll to be secured by the factory battery mounting system.

Ok I just ordered the Odyssey PC925L with their terminal, not cheap but I read a lot of good things, AGM, higher power... sounds good. i just hate my big fat Duracell so heavy barely fits in there. I can't believe the PO was so sloppy, they even placed a piece of cardboard to protect the positive pole... ugh

sure, but I always have my NOCO battery-jumpstart in my trunk if by accident I would keep the lights on overnight or so

francesconyc -- which mounting kit are you going with -- here's a thread with a few options https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/1052409-pics-odyssey-pc925-rennline-mount-sc-3-2-a.html

No it doesn't. Unless the charging system is bad, the charge in the battery has nothing to do with it. After start, the battery just sits there and sucks up 'trons from the charging system, and does not put any out. Same BS flag on the other claims.

I am not knocking the battery--it's sufficient, is smaller, and weighs less than most. But the other claims are outright false.
