Squealing when clutch engages
I finally had time to work on the Porsche yesterday. I double checked all the oil and electrical connections. Replaced some fuses and did a once over. I have a borrowed video recorder so I verified that the clutch is moving the throw out arm. I primed the injectors and started her right on up. Everything appeared fine. I depressed the clutch pedal and heard a loud squealing.
Any ideas on what could be causing the squealing? Did I get the tension on the cable too tight or too loose? Is it possible I did not get the bottom of the fork in the channel so that the bottom of the plate is still partially connecting with the disk? I verified the top of the fork was engaging, but could not see into the botom. |
You might want to adjust the clutch pedal stop on the floorboard. I bet it squeals only when the pedal is to the floor?

Garth,
You are right, the squealing is related to the travel of the clutch pedal. The problem is that at all adjustments on the cable I cannot engage the transmission into gear. I fear the fork is not properly engaging the throw out bearing. Any other ideas, yall? Before I pull the motor. Again. |
