915 3rd to 5th Gear Synchro Trust Block Position

Hello All,

I think it is my first Thread here, so Hello Everyone.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 915 gearbox on my 1980 SC

I'm changing all the synchro parts for 3rd and 4th gear.

I have purchased all the parts from Porsche, but they have changed the design of the trust block.
Do you know in which position it goes ?

Thanks

I would lean towards re-using the old blocks. They aren't really a wear item anyway, they don't slide or rub in any meaningful way, they only transfer force.

I did recently 930 transmission ,this looks like block for those synchro rings .Maybe they updated the version ?
If Mat Monson will see this he will tell you exactly,he is the expert...

The new stop block with the notch in it fits the 930 dog teeth which needs the notch to clear the outer lip on the 930 teeth. When using the new block on 915 dog teeth, I don't think it makes any difference whether the notch is up or down. If you are concerned about the slightly reduced contact area with the ends of the synchro ring, just reuse the old block.

Thanks for all your answer,

I will go with the logo facing down, like in the 930.

Yes i think they updated the parts, I do not feel comfortable giving a call and explaining this in English :D
