Any Air-Cooled Folks Running Swepco 20W-50 motor oil?

I came across the Swepco site and noticed that they sell a 20W-50 motor oil. I have run their gearbox oil for decades with no issues. I have run Valvoline Racing and Motul in this viscosity. Not looking for another long oil thread, just whether this oil still is a good option or if it has fallen out of favor for some reason.

Yes, I'm running SWEPCO 306- 20W50 in my newly rebuilt 3.2SS. It's only now just broken in, so I don't have anything much to offer. I've never heard anything but good about this oil and their gearbox oils for my 915 transaxle. Maybe folks with a lot more experience will reply.

Swepco 306 Motor Oil

Thanks for the reply. Do you run the Swepco oil improver as well? Motul has a conventional 20W-50 oil that might benefit from newer technology. I wonder what the dwindling number of air cooled shops are recommending these days.

I used to run Swepco 20W50 in my old 3.2. No noticeable difference between that, Kendall, or VR1. I run VR1 anymore because it's readily available and less expensive. You can read the billion page oil thread as it's mentioned a few times in there. I doubt any of the regular Zinc-heavy weight-proper oils offer any meaningful advantage over the others.

Agree! Synthetic with the high zinc and especially high HTHS.
