Did Anyone know Rocky Kuonen (R Gruppe Member)

I purchased a heavily damaged 914-6 that used to belong to Rocky. We became friends over the years. He even sent me some writings and a tour he planned for one of the R Gruppe events. He was very fond of the time he had with that club. As I was repairing the car I thought it would be nice to pull the triangle glass and send it to him. Sadly I discovered he passed away. I thought maybe someone on the R Gruppe would like to possibly plan an event is his honor. I would like to send the window back to the Gruppe as a possible traveling trophy. If you knew Rocky or are associated with the Gruppe and want to entertain the idea let me know.

Thought I would bump this one more time. Anyone know a Gruppe R guy or gal I can reach out to? Trying to pay tribute to a nice guy and fellow enthusiast and get the Gruppe R items back to the club.

I just returned from the R Gruppe Treffen in Santa Fe and I’m happy to share this piece of R Gruppe history was turned into the “long drive” trophy for the member who drove their old car the longest distance; it will find a new home each year….kind of like the Stanley Cup but lighter.

Thank you for sharing. I am glad this had a happy ending on my side of the effort. Although we had some nice conversations over a short time, my one regret is I never met Rocky. Thank you for keeping him on the move.

Never had the pleasure to meet Rocky, but I do miss my 914 and the community, it attracted all sorts of creative people. The trophy is a great tribute, I like how it also looks like a sail... travel ...etc. Well done.
