FVD Brombacher body panel experience?
Hi everyone - this is a question related to aftermarket 930 composite fenders - I'm modifying my 911 to a wide body/930 look. Seriously considering 930 kevlar composite fenders from FVD - B. I searched the PP forums and nothing came up (restricted FVD to title only). These fenders appear to be "perfect" for what I need and company has long term after market product development experience (deep catalog).
However - does anyone have any experience with FVD-B fenders? Fitment? Maybe the company in general if related to experience purchasing parts. Just thought I would ask the air cooled Porsche hive mind before hitting send on the funds. Appreciate any feedback.

Don't know about their fenders and body panels in general, but I can say they are a very serious business based in Germany and the products they sell are usually top notch. Only had good purchase experiences with them.

If you buy them, please do a review. I asked a similar question a bit back and couldn't get any first-hand experiences.

I was talking with a builder in Europe who did a 74 RSR tribute and used FVD, I asked him about quality of part, he was very pleased. They have a really good reputation AFAIK, but it's 2nd hand info.
Obviously, the cost to get panels from Europe to the USA seems cost prohibitive. I looked into EB Motorsports in the UK for RSR panels as they made a recent RSR replica that was really nice. I got a quote to get it to me and it was pre-pandemic so it was semi-reasonable as they work with Rothsport Racing for USA sales. To get it there was reasonable and then to me from Rothsport was a chunk of change. You should talk to Mike Shaw at Getty. I know he's done some CF stuff. It would be a lot easier to get a full set of fenders made here in the USA. The reason I would look domestically is because you don't want to run into the nightmare scenario that is international shipping on fragile car parts. I had custom RSR centerlock wheels made in Italy, and it took 2 years and thousands more than originally thought. They arrived completely damaged, they were held in customs for months, it was a disaster. I would have been better served just paying more for the AASE sales RSR wheels. Now, you may also luck out and get a good shipping price and no damage, not trying to be a raincloud. There's a 'low budget' build going with a Japanese body kit and so far the process has been reasonable, for both time and cost.

Thanks for comments so far - apprecaited!
Gilles - appreciate the comment re: interactions with the company - I get a similar impression via the US distributer TeeJayHoward - if it goes forward I'll update this thread on the parts, process and fitment etc. Duane - thanks for the comments - and 99% of the time I seek US manufacturers and Pelican Parts (or US Pelicans) when buying parts. I have considered Getty (good reputation no doubt) and as you point out there are some logistical reasons to not consider ex-USA (shipping cost being one). However Getty are in CA and I'm in PA and shipping (rough calculations on my part) difference between Germany and PA is certainly a few hundred - but not thousands -not deal breaker difference (same comment for price of FVD kevlar vs Getty CF - couple C notes). Good points on shipping damage risk - I am concerned about packaging and potential damage - that is a risk I would accept to use high quality, good fitting parts. The second hand experience on quality you shared is appreciated. I am assuming importation/customs risks are borne by the FVD US distributor in FL. This is important though and I do need to confirm, so thanks for bringing it up. Any other comments welcome.
