911SC Front Torsion Bar set up
Looked - not hard enough I guess...
Is there a guide on setting up Torsion Bar adjustment from scratch ? I am replacing all rubber and both control arms and so "counting the turns" doesn't really work for me ! Anyway they were set very differently anyway .. Any help much appreciated ![]() ![]() |

What's your ride height?
When you jack up the car make sure to measure the wheel gaps over hang. Get them the same gaps both L and R That's how you're going to reindex the bar caps.trial and error to start. Looks like right side as low as you can get it and has more tension Affects your corner balance. Are the pics taken when car up on the air? Left side should have tension when car on the ground. Simplest way is measure ride height before you start (fender lips or more accurately torsion bar centers).
After changing out all the suspension parts, re-adjust to match the original heights. The position of the screws is irrelevant but they will be similar if you position the torsion bar caps the same. |

Hummm - should have asked earlier !
The front suspension is completely stripped down and the car is up on the ramp so I have no original measurements to go from. I guess I will reassemble everything - when I get the parts - and leave the adjustment bolts at the very bottom and up work from there ? Unless other ideas ? |

There are values for the european and standard ride heights.
There are measured from the center of the wheel to the center of the front of the torsion bar. Easiest to measure from floor to wheel center then from floor to the center of the torsion bar and subtract to get the Height. Standard US is 99 +- 5 mm. European (lower ride) is 108 +- 5 mm. If you go too low you will likely want a bump steer kit.
