Optima Battery Life
My friend and I were comparing the life of my recently replaced Optima Batteries. His had a 2006 date code while mine was a youngster with a 2009 code.
We were both amazed.

I had one I replaced last year that was 14 years old. I was both amazed and pleased with how long it lasted.

Same experience here. The original Optima battery in my Ford GT lasted 16 years. The newer ones are not the same quality.

Correct on the newer ones not being the same. On my race car that sits in a trailer outside, years ago they would last a decade easily. The last one bought in maybe 2019? lasted 4 years. Now just buy East Penn AGM batteries and get the same or more life cheaper.... Kind of sad.

I've been more impressed with the life from the modern lithium batteries. They don't lose charge while they sit, and they (so far) have lasted just as long as my yellow-top and red-top batteries. Plus they're significantly lighter!
