Steve Wiener's web site says that you can get much better performance with the dual dist. setup over the Electromotive HPV-1 because you can run wider plug gaps. I dunno, but he should know. Someone might write Electromotive for their opinion and see if they refute this with data.

I agree the dual dist. setup can be done a bit cheaper -- I paid a few hundered ($400?) for the 964 unit _with_ all the plug wires, leaving only the MSD units to be bought after that + the machinist's work.

One thing to think about -- if you mod a 3.6L then this is $2,000 you don't have to pay -- so that cuts the differential between that and a 3.2L or 3L quite a bit.

Cam - I like your thinking but can already picture the scrutineer starting to shake his head...

If I was a scrutineer, I'd send me off to think about how naughty I'd been too.

HPV-1 is just a different Electromotive product (to the HPX).

I disagree with Steve on his statment on the Electromotive systems. I've researched this quite a bit, and these HPV or HPX systems are as good, if not better than the MSD systems...

Ryan,

Give me a call - 0410 559 395. I've just completed a similar car for Tarmac rallys (although based on 914) 2.7L, 180hp at the wheels etc.
