Convertible Top locking mechanism

Having an issue with the convertible top locking mechanism.

Disconnected the motors a long time ago, and have been raising and lowering the top manually while using the existing latches. I can hear the relays clicking and by using a power source, the latches work. It seems they're not getting a message to lock or unlock.

Wondering if there are any convertible top experts?

Gary

The Porsche Cab Top is very simple to troubleshoot. Read here under Porsche Cab Top; https://www.systemsc.com/problems.htm

I'm finally getting back to mine and recall that years ago John Walkers Workshop had a thing about converting to Targa latches. It has been a long time since I have been on this side of the bird.

Is JW still around, and where can I source the parts?

From one of his posts years ago

On the windshield frame, the strikers for the top latches are different, electric and manual. Easy swap, just have to find manual ones.

Here's a rough list of required parts:
- targa latches (2)
- targa handles (2)
- targa strike plates (where the latches lock down in the windshield frame)
- "rosettes" (2) to surround the holes in the headliner made to accomodate the handles

Let me know if you have any questions.
