Charging/generator light question
So this spring/now summer my car does not charge very effectively. Changed regulator out, did field tests with good results, checked all the wires and light goes out once fired up My major change from last year was a triple gauge which integrated oil temp, oil pressure, fuel gauge in one gauge. The fuel gauge is inoperative and goes full as soon as I turn on the ignition. The vendor will be taking car of this. To me it seems there is something amiss here and that’s what changed the charging . Thoughts? Yes belt is tight, new alternator 2k ago from quality rebuilder

Ok so a little progress the D+ reads 1 volt less than the battery what should I be looking at? I am curious if I just used 12v from the battery what I would see for voltage. Seems the drop in voltage could be a major issue?

Did a resistance test and D+ to the gauges no measurable loss but if I turn the ignition switch on the red/white tracer wire adjacent to the blue d+ wire has a 1 volt drop

How do you know that “the car does not charge very effectively”? And to which car are you referring?

Sorry it’s a 1 piece at a time car from lots of different cars. It’s a 2.4s engine in a 914-6. Regardless the problem was a combination of ignition switch, cleaning the grounds and cleaning fuse panel. Now it’s all good again.
