Help!! Car won’t start

Hello wondering if I can get some guidance. All of a sudden the car won’t start. The engine is a 2.7 CIS Thought maybe it was the battery but I changes it. It sounds like the starter is kicking over and the fuel pump is coming on. But maybe I am totally wrong. I uploaded a video for some help. Before I tow it to a shop.

Need more info. Is your battery fully charged? Does the alternator light illuminate? Can you beep the horn?

That's a weak batt. most likely, but could also be a starter solenoid hanging up. Usually a weak battery will have just enough current to initiate the solenoid, but not enough to get it to throw the star gear into action.

Try the procedure with a batt booster or with a jumper vehicle. If it works then both batts are likely under 10 volts when key is on the start position.

I'll go for a faulty solenoid switch at the starter motor...
You can hear it engaging but not switching through due to worn contacts...

Indeed. Replaced my Bosch with Hi Torque 101n due to tired solenoid.

How about checking the simple stuff first, tighten those battery clamps.

You can also practise push starting in lieu of the tow.

I have never had this problem with my 2.7 CIS, but you have been given good things to check out.

I second starting out with the easy stuff like cleaning and redoing your battery contacts.

In another car the battery mount shifted after hitting a big pothole on the highway. Right after that I stopped to get gas, and had to tighten the contacts at the gas station because it would not start.

Thank you all for your responses, I put in a new battery. I took the starter to o’Reilly auto parts and they tested it and everything tested fine. I tried to push start it with the old battery but it wouldn’t fire either. I guess I will try with the new battery. But after that I am stuck again. Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

From your video your starter seems to only click no crank at all. In my case it was starter.
Also I replaced ground connection for transmission,, like everyone above is suggesting. You dont need a new one (some fools like myself bought new ones).
You can remove old one, give it a good scrub with a wire brush to remove and dirt until you see shiny copper.
Or bench test your starter with your battery in the car (easy to do). Mine was not working so I hit it with hammer (not recommended) and it started again. Now in the car, will run it until it dies..

Sure sounds like a weak battery.
Though you say the local auto parts store said it was ok, I’d double check the voltage with a multimeter, and then crank it to see the drop (load test) while it’s in the car.
It’s always good to clean the terminals and make certain they are tight along with the 2 braided ground straps.
If the solenoid is jammed, you could try and rock the car in gear and then try and restart. This worked on my VW without getting underneath and tapping it with a hammer.
