1987 Carrera Power Seat Switch

My forward button will not work on the back rest control (other 3 directions do). I have ordered the part from our host and ready to install. I have removed the cover plate and have pulled the housing away from the seat however, I dont see how I can install without removing the seat. Is this possible?

If not, is it simply removing the bolts at all four corners? Would I be safe to just lean the entire seat back and swap out this switch or should I unplug everything and swap the switch on the bench?

Taking care of lots of fiddly items so stay tuned.

Hope this helps. Also- removing your steering wheel first (using a 27mm socket) will minimize cussing & contortions.
