993 dash in a '75 911?

Will it fit? Look out of place? Or is it basically the same thing?
There's one on ebay and mine is cracked. I'm thinking I could connect the vent to the fresh air duct.

It fits just fine, I have one in my '75. Depends if you want to keep the car original or not. Good luck!

Thanks MJ,

I already have a 3.2 in the car so originality went out the window already!

I am in the process of installing a 993 dash in my 77 and have found the center ac vent requires sheet metal modifications to fit properly. The ac vent is larger as such the sheet metal needs to be cut about a 1/4 in to allow the vent to fit into the dash properly. The cut would only be noticeable is the dash pad was off but I am going to find an older style so I do not have to cut the dash.

Great idear. Always wondered how these people (on ebay) have new dashes and center consoles and shifters in their 76 911s.

Now, about those little nobbie shifters that they have...

If you install the dash first it is very evident how much metal needs to be cut out or cut and bent back for the new larger vent to work. Basically you just cut down to meet the bottom of the dash pad.

I'd love to see some pics of this project. I'd love to have a console in my car. Might even be a way for me to get a cup holder in it.
