Question Cross Over Panel Post Nuts?

In search of the P/N for the little flat expanding(?) nuts for the Cross Over Panel (#21 in the diagram). There are four little posts that protrude down toward the ground and for some reason only one post has a nut on it.

Anyone have any idea what that part is called or the P/N? Many thanks.

Attached is the parts catalog for the car w/ the red boxes illustrating the part and part number/description for which the nuts are needed.

Thanks for the help.

I looked at mine (4j all still in place but don’t know part number…
However, that type of fastener is called a Pal-nut or a ‘stampedcounter nut.
For example, I’ve seen them used on old cars for attaching the die-cast emblems on fenders, etc.

I'll look up the part number later but I remember them being flat push style nuts

Using a typical flat speed nut on a non-threaded stud will be difficult to remove, unless used in conjunction with an accessible screw head.
It comes to mind like those retainers that hold on the original plastic door speaker grilles. The (round) flat push-on retainers work similarly to speed nut but are one way - and always break off the plastic studs when trying to remove the grilles with the door card still in place.

I don’t know if the crossover panel cover has plastic or steel studs that hold it in place and it’s not obvious if there’s any threads (I can’t reach inside down to remove one right now) but the reason for the 8mm hex “speed nut” is to allow it to be backed off for removal.

I looked again for where I’ve seen these specialty stamped nuts before and found they are what hold my 911 S badge on the back lid that I removed to do a proper wax/polish. Same size at the crossover panel. There are even smaller ones fastening the hood emblem.

In the PET they’re called a Tapping Nut… Part # 999-591-423-03.

@all - thanks for the quick help, names and suggestions.

@dg567 - the one that is installed on the car is a flat thing, very much like what you have put into your link.

@ED900 - your pics and suggestions (and PN) are very helpful. I like the hex head aspect to that solution but am wondering if there might be an issue backing it off later as the post is simply pressed into a plastic base. We'll see...

Thanks everyone. Case solved and closed.

The style of nut I posted is how they were installed from the factory. I can’t find the PN but I’ll keep looking as I’ve ordered them before.

There isn’t much tension on the flat nut, it’s just to keep the decorative strip in place.
