How to best test CSV?
Hi Pelicans,
I need to test a CSV and want to do out the car. What's the best way to do this? I assume it’s best to have the right fuel pressure while activating the 12V on the valve/injector. Pictures and recommendation are very welcome. Thx in advance. BR C |
No tiny helpful advise out there?

To clean them I have used a syringe from a windshield chip kit and fuel line to the injector with mineral spirits and applied 12V.
In the past I have checked my injectors spray pattern with the whole CIS off the car. I connected a rubber hose the fuel pump inlet and put it in a gallon can of mineral spirits, and the return line into another container. That way I knew I had the correct fuel pressure to check spray patterns. I did it outside. I won't say it's an easy way to check it, but since I had the whole system off already it worked. Since then I bought one of the injector cleaner testing pumps and it's a lot easier. Connect the injector to the pump, bring up the pressure and apply 12V. Just a side note, I'm not sure what cold start valve you have but on the mine there is a filter screen in the inlet. I pulled them out carefully with a sheet metal screw and cleaned them. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1723409278.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1723408918.jpg |
Thanks a lot Ed for the further details, that's really appreciated. I just got my CSV out of the car and will try to test it over the next days. :-)
If anyone has more information and/or good advices, please just feel free add them to the thread. All help are appreciated. BR C |
