SC Seat Expert Please Tell Me What Model Year Comfort Seats I Have?

Hi to all:

Pulled the seats to install a Lakewell carpet kit and noticed the seats appear different. In the picture at this link is https://photos.app.goo.gl/44BVb1xQSd8tqyoJ7, the driver's seat is on the right and the passenger on the left. Note the driver side employs hex bolts and has a horizontal adjustment handle, while the passenger side uses bolts and a vertical handle.

I know the PO removed the driver's seat for tracking and had the seat put back in, but clearly it is not the original? Thank you for your help identifying these!

Those look to me like the same seats with the adjustment handle clocked differently and different fasteners. There's not much to go on, but based on the vinyl pattern I'd guess they're midyear seats.

Thanks - so it is possible to set a different alignment on the slider adjustment lever then? I guess I will find out - will be grabbing some new seat covers at John Walker's Swap this Saturday and then pulling the seats apart.

First thing I would do is use some spray on lubricant like Wurth HS2000 and get everything moving as it should. They get gummed up with 40 + years of dust and dirt. I'm guessing that lever will me more or less OK with a bit of moving it about.

Maybe, but I'm not certain. But like Bill says, I'd lube everything to make sure it's moving. There's a good chance the one on the left is just sticking.
