Talking My VW/Porsche Playhouse Has Begun!

Whohoo! After almost a year (11 1/2 months) of work, I have a building permit in my hot little hands!

The final thing that was holding things up was a freakin' 8x8 metal garden shed - it counted towards the total square footage of buildings on the property, and thus forced my plans back to the planning dept. I talked them into making it a line-item on the final sign-off, so I have to tear it down before then. Big whup.

Sweet! I know what you've gone through.

I too am in the middle of begining my Porsche Haus. Ground breaking should begin the middle of May. I had to do something, because the wife said I couldn't bring anymore 911's home (or any car) untill I did something about the parking arrangements.

Congrats Thom. I'm on the home stretch. We're sheet rocking the walls. Ceiling is up and taped. Good Luck.

You could win a "Most Miserable Porsche Working Conditions" contest.

Tim, was that the day we stopped by to visit? It looks just as soggy. Man, you really need a garage!

Thom, congrats on your permit. You've shown a heck of a lot of patience with the whole process.

Let's start a collection and get Tim a Tent so he can at least stay dry while working on his car.

Tim,
That's dedication, but don't feel like the Lone Ranger I've had to work on stuff in some pretty miserable conditions too.
A least you have room for a mega shop and a test track to boot.
About the only place I see that much flat green land around here is in your pic.
Cheers

That yard is huge, real estate here is approaching Tokyo prices.
Mabye there's a demolition around that wouldn't mind you hauling away their bricks(for a fee of course ) and some sand to at least keep you dry.

Hey Tim - I have this tent thing I don't need anymore, and I have all new covering panels. No idea how I'd get it to ya...

Just a quick update. I actually got my building permit 3 weeks ago, and the county finally came out Friday to do the site inspection, and the various utilties are busy marking their lines and pipes. By Friday we should have the trenching for the the foundation, sewer and water lines.

Trenched the foundation this weekend. I am one sore puppy... Yeah, the pix aren't much to look at, but I was proud of myself after moving all of that dirt. We used a ditch-witch to make 2 parallel cuts about 6" each, or tried to, but that didn't work that well, so I had to clean and excavate by hand today.
