Fender fuel door delete
So is the common fix for this to just weld the existing door? Or how are people sealing off the fuel door hole for rsr type fenders?

I used a piece of 20 gauge steel. Cut it oversized, shaped it, trimmed and welded it in. I also cut away everything on the backside of fender. Forget why I didn’t use fuel door I can only assume it was because the panel from scratch was easier for me.

Too big of a gap with the original fuel door to weld . Shaped panel from scratch the better way..

There's an aftermarket kit for a fuel neck that welds to the tank and includes a sheet metal plate to weld in the fender FYI. As other's have said, the stock door has a 3-4mm gap around it, so that's a lot of weld. It's possible, but it just takes more grinding and finishing.

I guess for one, fuel doesn’t go there
I have a fuel cell which requires the hood to open to access the filler. Less of a clean look I could go on.l but I think the first one I listed is enough. But yeah. I could just leave it I guess.

I used the fender fuel door and bent a piece of welding rod to fit the gap. Came out wonderfully.
