1987 Carrera Boge Strut

In the process of a front suspension refresh and replacing my strut inserts.

Before I go whacking with a BFH, based on the pic below, I need to remove the camber plate from the strut insert--will not pull off is there something else holding it? Or just stuck from age?

Once the camber plate is removed, I should be able to remove the shock cover and then pull out the strut?

You should not need to remove the camber plates, and I recommend against it (that will upset your camber settings). Remove the big nut on top of the strut and it should push down and through the bushing in the camber plate. Torsion bar needs to be disconnected, of course.
