Orange Wires with Red Stripes, wrapped in White Sleeve - LH Rear Bumper (Bellows)
Rooting around, actually causing more work for myself while fixing known issues, I come across this...
  an orange wire with red stripes, wrapped in a white sleeve. the location is rear driver side bumper, roughly behind the bellows. looks like it may even come from above/around the tail light housing. any thoughts?

I had the same wires on my 82SC. Found a fog light
And installed one using the original wires.

On my car (1978SC ROW) there is wiring on both sides so many years ago I fitted two rear fog lamps. Over the years the one next to exhaust melted! So now have just one but here in the UK it's normal to have just the one on the right.
