Question Steering wheel adjustment

Ok- there may be folks out there who want this done, and it's my guess that with all you porschephiles out there - some of you have done this. So, the big question is HOW DO I ADJUST THE POSITION OF MY STEERING WHEEL TO BRING IT BACK TOWARDS ME A BIT????

I'm 6'4" and still have my arms stretched almost all the way to even reach the wheel. My plan, or goal, is to move the wheel out towards me so I can snug up underneath it when I eventually lower my drivers seat.

I did this.....I had to buy an aftermarket wheel and the Momo spacer that brings the wheel closer...

I don't know how to do it with the factory wheel.

If you don't want to go after-market, then you have to have a car that was ordered with the extended hub wheel option. Otherwise, you have to go with a Momo/Sparco type wheel, hub, and maybe even hub spacers. Another solution used in conjuction with the after-market wheel/hub would be one of those fancy quick-release adapters. They will extend the wheel back an additional 2 inches or so. If you go that route, make sure to get a "splined" one, as the hex-shaft ones allow too much radial play. Also beware you will loose your horn function, unless you get creative.

Ok, that's a bit of useful info. Thanks very much for the feedback!!!

My 911 does not have a extended wheel hub, so it sounds like I need to go aftermarket wheel etc... Hmm.

I swapped to a Momo extended hub (there are two options...regular and extended) along with a single Momo spacer. This made a big difference, bringing the wheel closer to me and giving more space between the wheel and dash. The only downside is that your fingers are further from the stalk switches, but I find that my fingers are long enough.

The 930S wheel that our host sells, plus the hub extender are another way - check out My Owner's Gallery or do a search on 930S - there are a bunch of us that have them (and love them)
