993 Convertible tension rope replacement

anyone have experience or links to show on how to replace the broken tension rope? TIA.

I too have a 993 cab. It is remarkable how little information is available, either online or in repair manuals (Bentley, Haines etc), about how to work on 964/993 convertible tops.

These tops have common issues but the “fix” for most of them is to covert to manual operation. My 993 top drops and slams onto the windshield header unless I catch it with my hand on the way down. Very common on 993 cabs but I have never seen a way to fix it and I have been looking for several years.
