Subs in smugglers box
Has anyone mounted subs or other speakers using the smugglers box and a port into the passenger compartment?

I can't even picture where in the car that is a picture of in the thread... is that in the trunk?
I used to do a lot of car audio competition stuff when I was a lot younger with a lot more disposable income and a lot less reponsibilities... I would've killed to be able to put subs ahead of the occupants in the car. I haven't looked closely at the sheetmetal between the cabin and the trunk, another option if its relatively well sealed would be an infinite-baffle setup. You'd get more usable bass without rattling the car to pieces.

the smugglers box is the area under the hood just in front of the passenger footwell, a/c components reside in it if you have a/c, there is a door under the hood for access. i have extensive audio competition experience......never wasted my own money on it though, having been in the business for many years has provided me the means to have limitless fun.......i.e...company owned competition cars ![]() i've also built a few mfg. demo vehicles and some VERY loud SPL vehicles (170+db) ![]()

I've had my sub in the smugglers box and also between the seats sitting on the rear hump. The only differance is when its between the seats I could feel it on my arms. The sub is back in the smugglers box and sounds (feels) great.
