Classic Retro AC + Headlight washer
If you install the front wheel well Condenser for the Classic Retro electric AC - you either have to relocate the washer bottle using the Boxter version to behind the front wheel, or just use the "Intensive" washer instead.... but both of those options lose the Headlight washer -
Does anybody have an option to maintain the use of the headlight washer? (other than leaving the fluid reservoir up front and putting the condenser in the back) I don't intend on using the headlight washers all that much - but I hate removing a stock functionality. ![]() |

I felt the same way about losing the headlight washer functionality (just on principle). I swapped out the Boxster WW pump for a VW/Audi headlight washer pump. It will fit in the tank recess, you just need to make the hole larger (and there is a key on the electrical connector that needs to be filed off to use the Boxster connector).
![]() This shows the bigger pump in place. ![]() Here is the part number. ![]() For the windshield washer functionality I mounted a fitting on the top of the tank with the stock pickup tube extending down into the tank. It also had a connector for the return line (and another that is capped). ![]() This is where I got the windshield washer fitting. It required epoxying a hose barb to the bottom of the white fitting on the left. ![]() This uses the stock supply and return lines going to the factory windshield washer pump in the frunk. Top of the installed tank shown here. ![]() Here is a more complete view. ![]() This could all be done with the CR kit (I made my own brackets, etc.). It all works just as it is supposed to. —Best, Dave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
