Need Another Suggestion
Hi Again - How does one get these springs sufficiently compressed to complete their installation?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1726526947.jpg
I've tried You-tuber "Mikes Restorations" method using an old modified speed-borer without success. There has to be a simple way - short of taking the assembly to a machine shop. Thanks again for any suggestions. Cheers JB |
Force the spring into an arc within the housing and start a punch in one side and the pin in the other, push the spring straight and tap the pin through.

Your solution was elegant in its simplicity - much appreciated - Thank you John
