Reupholstering the SC Comfort Seat in Vinyl.
I will be reupholstering my SC Comfort seats, vinyl, with a set from World Upholstery I picked up at John Walker's awesome PCar Swap meet. I will use this thread to detail this work since I am not finding any writeups specific to this comparably simple work. The SC seat is straightforward and vinyl less heartbreak if I screw up.
I have all Pelican threads and internet-based instructions but I'd appreciate any comments and suggestions you might have. Best approach (heat; steam) to make the vinyl pliable and wrinkle-free. Using "slip sheets" to ease the vinyl over the foam, and what number of bullnose you used on the seat S wire frame to firm up the bottom, plus any augmentation of foam since my driver side bottom bolster is a bit compressed. Thanks in advance I will get pics and steps written up in the coming weeks. What a great community! Pic below of the Lakewell kit I just installed - I have a few tips if you are heading in that direction so you can learn from my mistakes. ![]()

Sunlight, talcum powder and plastic bags make getting foam inserts to slide easily into small openings of stitched upholstery.

I took your excellent advice and it worked very well. Time for a shower and a cold beer.
