CV flange cap screws- Loctite?

If the 6 cap screws on the outer CV keep backing out, can I use Loctite to resolve the issue? Thanks in advance.

People will use a schnorr washer or nord-lock on each bolt to help keep from backing out

Yes just don’t use red.

I use nord-locks and a little blue loctite. If they still loosen up, the threads on the flange are probably washed out. Replace the flanges or get longer bolts and run a thin lock nut on the back. It's not a great design - there's a reason why 915s in Carreras had an increased diameter flange and M10 bolts.

Many racers through drill and tie them with wire.

Ah, the aviation trick. There is a tool that will spin into a tight twist. Even filters on AV planes get wired on.

What's funny is that I've had my axles off and on a bunch and I've never had any start to back out. No washers, just the bolt, probably a little too much grease left on the flanges, and no problems even with tracking the car. Is the key to success just being really anal about torqueing in a pattern and going over them twice?

When I put mine back together in a few weeks, I will thoroughly clean the bolts, flanges and all threads, run chasers on the bolt and flange threads and then use Schnorr VS washers and blue loctite.
