Another odd wire - insulation partially gone
I'm still trouble shooting my CIS and one new problem is that my tank probably isn't venting. I took a break from the CIS to start taking the vent hoses out up front.
I found this wire with a connector on it tucked away. I've never noticed it before. You can see the insulation is has started to melt. I believe it's factory. It dives down into a wiring loom. Any ideas? I guess I'm glad I started on those hoses. This could have been bad. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1728770272.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1728770272.jpg |
Either something shorted and melted/burned the insulation off, or there was a hungry little four legged critter gnawing on it.

Can you see the wire color(s)?

I honestly can't believe I never noticed it before. It must be original. It goes into a bundle and it has lacing around it. |
Clock working?

A bit of luck. I'm working on my fuel vents and saw the wire in question in this photo. Any idea where it goes? I've only got the end that ties to fuse block. You can see it just above the tank filler under the blue fuse.
It's a photo from Bob Kontak. https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/607270-fuel-tank-ventilation-where-does-hose-go.html http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729360004.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729360136.jpg |
