Paint Code
How do we decode the paint code on a 1972 911T Coupe? I have the door plate and the vin

So are you missing the tag on the hinge side of the door jamb? That's where the information is. You can get a COA from Porsche but that just lists the color name not the actual code. If the color on the body is the original color the easiest way if you don't have the paint tag is to have your local automotive refinish paint jobber scan the color with their color camera which will give you a formula based off the reading. Unlike modern vehicles with a 17 digit VIN where a dealership (any make) can lookup the code, you can't do that with pre 17 digit VINs
Here is the location of the tag. https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...1&d=1719157288 |
Email me the information, and I can help.
