1987 cabriolet roof alignment

I am hoping someone can help me solve a problem I’m having opening my convertible top. When I press the switch to open the top the right side will bind so I have to stop and manually pull that side clear of the frame in order to finish the opening process. Both locking motors release the roof but the right side locating pin is sticking or binds in the windshield frame. I’m wondering if there’s an adjustment to realign the pin. Thanks

Always surprised at how little info there is available on our convertible tops. Maybe just lubing the latch hooks and catch posts on the header?? Or slight post adjustment? Look at the Franny series on YouTube if I recall she has a vid on changing the front latch on hers. Not your exact issue but might give you some clues.

I have an 83 Cab so manual was the only option then.

Be careful though if you hold the button too long the motor can bend the frame which would be an expensive mess.

Let us know if you get it resolved.

Thanks funracer, I’ll have to check franny out she’s great at explaining every detail of her work. I have tried repositioning the pins but there really isn’t much play in them. A dab of grease inside the windshield frame might not be a bad idea.
