				Blowing in the wind

Hi, I've been reliably informed that the barrel base gasket on my cylinder #3 is blowing oil. Whilst I realise that the best way to cure this is to strip the engine to the barrel bases and replace all gaskets etc, I don't really have the funds for an engine rebuild at the moment. In the interim while I save up for the rebuild (and read Wayne's book on how to do it), can you recommend an instant gasket, or some sort of sealant I can use to stop the blowing without taking apart or dropping the engine?

Maybe you should attempt a retorque of the heads and see if that helps any. You may or may not beable to accurately do that with the engine still in the car. Oh and look at it yourself and see if the problem description makes sense.

Good advice. Clean the engine and see if this is really where the oil is escaping. Yes, I think you can retorque all those head nuts. Not more than 25 lb/ft.
