Problem with Wheel

A friend of mine has a `95 C4 with factory Speedline Turbo Cup wheels. They are 2 (3?) piece wheels and one of them has a leak where the lip is bolted to the wheel. He says that he can buy a new one for about $1340. He's tried Wheel Enhancement and Tire Rack and neither one knows who might fix them.
Is there anyone out there than knows who can fix these?

You can't just run a bead of silicone there? Sorry, don't know the wheel, so if the tire bead or something needs to be there, I understand why you can't. Most bolt together wheels need silicone.

He says he ran a very small bead of silicone on the wheel and it slowed it down some but still leaks. How much silicone does it need?

is the leak where the wheel bolts together, if so did he just have tire work done its very common to break the seal if the tire is removed, the tire tech will usualy stick the tire tool all the way in damaging the silicine seal, you can probably find someone to take it apart re seal it, if you are talking about a crack, buy a new wheel or send it to speedline and have the barrel replaced, Kevin

Kevin-the problem is he can't find someone that will fix the seal and $1340 is a bit much for a new wheel.
Yellowbird-thanks for the link.
