BBQ/Tech Session

I want to thank all of the people that were able to make the BBQ/Tech Session at our house today.
Sarah one thing we should have covered. You need a portable air compressor for the space saver spare.
These cars were shipped with them but for some reason people pitched them.
I've seen them on EBAY but they usually go for $$$. I bought one at Target and I used it fill a tire on my friends monster Jeep. So I'm assuming that it will fill the tire on the SC. If anyone has experience with them let me know.

Mike and Nancy from Winona respond to this thread and we can do a drive through "hill country."

Here are some pics from this afternoon (Saturday).

Thanks for all of the great tips.

Mike and Lori

That's a great picture, with all those beautiful cars lined up. I'm sure you all had a great time. I'm going to make it to one of these gatherings yet.

Sarah may want to check on Brumos Porsche, they run sales on certain items (including the "official" air-compressor) occasionally, I bought one from them for my 951 a few years ago for around $30. To those of you with older cars that were lucky enough to get the compressor with your car; have you actually tried to use it? Might be a good idea. On the other hand I've known people with the "Target special" compressor and they seem to work fine, but the Porsche model does come in a nice case ;).

Mike & Lori...thanks again for hosting everyone. That is a great picture!

You know....we do have that air compressor in the black case. At first we did not think it worked...but it does. We've used it to fill the tires but we need to use our tire pressure gauge to make sure the pressure reading is more accurate.

Has anyone used their spare tire?? I'm wondering if it is difficult to get all the air out of it to get it back into its space.

Once a year I inflate my spare just to make sure it holds air. It goes back to it's original collapsed state when I deflate it. It is easier to deflate if you take out the valve stem core.

Thanks again

I also want to thank Luke Shimp of the Highland grill for the cole slaw and the potato salad.
The best part of hosting an event is that you get the majority of the leftovers.

Sorry, I didn't make it to the tech session. But I did have breakfast at the Highland Grill on Saturday. Do I get any points for that?

BTW, the Huevos Rancheros are excellent.

Kurt...thanks for the info. We'll try that with our spare to make sure the air holds too.

We had a great time on Saturday. Thanks so much to Mike and Lori for having the gathering at their home. It was very nice. That parking lot across the street was quite convenient also!! Mike and I would love to lead a tour thru some of our wonderful country roads. We were on some great ones yesterday and thought of all of you. We just need to pick a day!! Take care :)

Fun as always

Thanks to Mike and Lori for hosting this event. Nice to see a good turn-out of beautiful cars, and to see folks I've met before. A pleasure to meet new folks, too.

Sorry I wasn't able to stay around for the food and tech, nor even be all that social with people. Chasing an inquisitive 3-year old is almost a full-time job by itself. My son loves cars, though, and recognizes Porsches. He kept talking about the red brakes he saw on one of the cars for the next day or two after the event.

I’m having breakfast at Highland Grill Sat 26th 10:00 if anyone wants to meet me there.
I have a friend who lives in the area and says the food is great.

Bring your appetite Mike! Huge portions. But very tasty.

Sarah 07-23-2003 09:12 AM

I met some girlfriends there before for dinner...but we'll have to get in there sometime for breakfast.
