Door handle pull help needed
 

Hi,

Putting together my doors on my bottoms up restoration (1980 SC) and am running into an issue with the pulls that go from the door lock mechanism to the interior door handle. Basically to put the the little white pull rod support in the place where it's supposed to be secured, it causes the rod to bend. It's almost as if the rod is too long. Not sure if they came in different lengths through the various times?

Also, where is the spring supposed to be attached?

So I think I found where the spring attaches - basically an attachment point sticking out from the edge of the door.

I also realized that there are left and right Bowden cables so tomorrow I’m going to take a look at the other one that was temporarily left in the unfinished drivers side door to see if I switched them around.

Tried both bowden cables so can only assume I have the wrong version for my door?
