Rennline roof rack, im the only one with this issues?

I juts got the Rennline Roof Rack thanks to the recent holidays discounts...

but I'm baffled by the fact the wood slats seem a bit loose... I havent install it on the car yet, but im afraid with vibration they may snap out because they are not tight enough inside their slots... they seem shorter of what they should be to fit snuggly

does anyone had issue with it?

I've had the Rennline rack on my 911 for about two years. No issues. My slats need to be bent up about a 1/2 inch to inch before they can be removed.

I was one of the first owners of the Rennline rack. Over three years zero issues.

Ditto for me, no issues at all with the slats. In fact, I found that they had to be bent quite aggressively to get them to slot in/out. The rack is great, I even figured out how to get a couple of bikes mounts on there. I've never gotten as many thumbs up as when a bike is up top.

Got mine today, yeah there’s some play in the slats side to side but they are def not coming out, put a dap of silicone on the tip if you want to dampen that.

Idk why, but I thought the feet were rubber coated, trying to find something now to protect the paint that isn’t permanently on the car, ideas?

McMaster sells rubber trim in various colors.

I used this on my homemade roof rack to protect the paint

Food Industry Rubber Trim, 1/8" Wide x 15/32" High Inside

TastyReuben - I had PPF put on my rain gutters and slightly up the roof to protect the paint from the feet.

cool..., i ended up using some rubber gloves and cutting the fingers and using the rubber to add a bit of tightness...

I'm also thinking of wrapping them completely with some heat-shrink black tubes so I can have them in black without using coloring stains etc
