clock runs when car runs
 
1987 911 clock doesn't run with car off but does with it running. Runs when connected directly to 12 battery

This subject has been covered numerous times in threads that can be found with the search function.

Likely tired capacitors, but other issues may be part of the equation.

could be hooked up to a fuse that is not on all of the time
