930 turbo S (wls)

Hi everyone!
I am currently writing a report about the Porsche 930 turbo S, or WLS (werks leistungssteigerung, SOW020).
and i was wondering if any of you had any knowledge and could help me find out some more information regarding this car, as info out there is scarce and contradictory (one guy says this and the other says that). I then rushed to check my books but to no avail... (i have to source some more books)
For what i can gather, the 930 turbo S was the wls kit offered by porsche sonderwunschprogramm starting in 1984, until its final days in 1989, as option SOW020.
This kit comprised basically of a larger k27 turbocharger and a larger intercooler (which might have taken the room for the rear wiper?) and a better flowing exhaust with four tips, two for the exhaust itself and the left two for the wastegate. The car is also famous for its front centre mounted bigger oil cooler and plastic sportier bumper(option sow021), which was necessary and thus you also had to order either that or the stoch bumper with the cooler hidden behind, thus leaving no space for the fog lights (SOW022).
All of these modifications brought the power up to 330 horsepower.
The german guys say only 400 of these cars were built, but i´m not entirely sure how the story goes.
does anyone know more about these cars?
mainly my interests are other things the kit might have had over the "regular" turbo, production numbers,etc...

Thanks Ian! yes, i knew about that video, Harry talks about some very interesting thingsbut i´m not very sure where some of his information is coming from, for instance the headlight surrounds being black... i´m not very sure that wls cars had that as a feature.

"The WLS option package was further transformed into a very unique and extremely limited production of just ten true “Turbo S” models. The designation Turbo S has been often mistaken to include all of the WLS but that is most certainly not the case.
The 1989 Turbo S package consisted of the following components that were fitted to just these ten vehicles:

Hi Joe,

I'd think the examples you describe are the very exclusive 1-of-10 SONAUTO cars with all kinds of extra's ?

Those (with the 959 seat colouring) were made especially for the French distributor and are highly sought-after since (see link below). My ultimate 930.

However as far as I know more 'true' Turbo S cars (not-WLS only) were made as well. Some classic-line and some Flachbau versions.

By the way, especially in the USA, those slantnoses are often wrongly regarded as automatically also having the SOW020 930/66S (330hp) engine, which is possible, but most often is not the case.

So definitely more Turbo S 930's were produced beyond the 10 SONAUTO cars.
