Lock problem, Interior round door knob stuck

Hello everyone,

On my 87 Carrera the interior round door knob on the driver door will not turn, completely stuck, frozen.
I am able to open and close the door with the interior and outer door handle, door closes fine but can not lock the car.
I took the entire inside door cover off.

I found that the end plastic 'screw pop piece' on top of the metal rod of the actuator broken off, already ordered for replacement. Actuator is working fine when turning key in door lock.

I do not understand why the interior round door knob does not turn to lock or unlock manually.(it should work with the actuator rod NOT attached)
Pushing on the 'metal ball end' at the lock mechanism where the actuator is attached to is also not moving.

Any help or suggestions? Thanks!

Can you lock the door with the key from the outside with the door shut? On the inside with the knob with the door shut?

If so it’s working fine. I replaced my door panels with RS panels and upon reassembly freaked out experiencing the same. I could be incorrect but it’s so you can’t lock your keys in the car.

Can not lock the door from the outside, I can hear the actuator working but door does not lock and pin at window does not go down. Also can not move the round door knob on the inside when door closed or open.

Ok, I think I figured it out. Reading through different posts, the door was NOT completely closed when trying to rotate the interior knob, anti lock mechanism did its intended job!
Waiting for my ordered plastic ends for the actuator rod and I should be good to go!
